thx a lot there. as a matter of fact, i started reading through the google documentation some time back, messing around with the APIs a bit. cud’nt learn it in a very organized fashion, cuz i think the official docs are pretty hard to get around with, with so many interlinked pages, and also quite inadequate. still, giving it my best shot. i’ll let u know when v can organize a workshop, maybe techtatva itself, when u can back me up during the demos. thx again.

Hey Saahil, congrats for such a feat. I think there are hardly any Android programmers in or around Manipal (atleast not in my language). Keep up your work, I also tried it last year winters but due to lack to proper internet connection had to abondon.

Just tell me when you want to take a workshop and the arrangements will be done ASAP. I am too busy in placements,but can still make arrangements.

I’d appreciate this effort more were you to space and format your paragraphs properly. Makes one feel like reading and getting involved in what you got to say. Takes only a little time and then people don’t mind your typos either.

I’ve tried getting into Android programming but the lack of proper Python binding support still holds me back from it. Some other month maybe.

I wanted to make you aware of a project that was launched recently that can definitely facilitate the end of cyber-bullying. It’s called the Humanbook Project. It is a mutually managed community regulated connections directory that utilizes web 2.0 wiki technology. Basically people are verified through their connections and their associations and if people within many groups do not verify who a individual is then that person is flagged and pulled out of the group. Like wiki, the more people that are in the system the more powerful and accurate it becomes. Ultimately no one will be able to make false identities because that false identity will not have real connections and they cannot duplicate identities because the true holder will be able to flag it or deny false connections. If you could help the project by passing along the word, we need people to become involved.

A very small column in the paper this morning went,”SC NOTICE ON IIT, IIM faculty reservation“.

“The supreme Court has sought a response from the Centre and UGC on a petition challenging reservations to faculty posts in educational institutions like the IITs IIMs JNU and AIIMS. NGO Citizens for Quality had contended that such reservations would dilute teaching standards. “

Lets see how this unfolds.. The same can be said about the Students reservation, the difference being that it diutes the output standards of the Institutions instead. The SC-ST etc who deserve these institutions make it through the general JEE. They do not need special quotas. Everybody writes the same exam..

yeah i know dinkar. read the title mere dost…..faculty and student reservations were only the beginnings. i can see more coming that way if the government or watever governing bodies for the IITs doesn’t seriously think of making and retaining these institution’s autonomous status.
